There are consequences

for every action

or lack thereof.

Every negative thought,

word and deed

impacts our world,

affects others,

can be injurious to

ourselves.

There is no impunity

for negligence,

no amnesty given

when we fail

to participate in

our own lives.

Nature abhors a void

and will fill it

in our absence

as if we did not exist

at all.

We are here,

each of us to offer

who we are

and what we hold

inside

to this place,

this time

to those who are

troubled,

hurting and

afraid.

We are here,

not to get what we can,

but to give

what we have,

share who we are

and in some

not so small way

carry

each other

home.
