Letting Go

It’s hard to let go

when we arrive at the end

of something we held as precious

and it is not the ending

we longed for.

It’s hard to let go of blame

or self-criticisms

when we feel we gave

everything we were

and it was not enough…

It’s hard to let go

when we want to force

the understanding,

acceptance and love that is not

forth-coming.

It is hard to see at first,

that every moment

was a refining of ourselves,

an elevation

to a new standard of self,

an expansion of our hearts

so that we can hold more,

be more,

and love…

More.
